Iĺl keep it forever. It runs great on my tosh laptop used as desktop.
My 12.04 on my actual laptop has a bunch of problems, including the interface. I was forced on gnome-fallback and recently forced (12.04 freeze problems and unable to install quantal for kernel) on 13.04 that gnome is worst and dont have my redeon performance card just the built in intel. By the looks of thing, Iḿ leaving the 10.04 and format the other with Mint (lts). Ubuntu is loosing it.
If you are unhappy with Ubuntu then its time to try another distro. You should try either Xubuntu or LinuxMint Cinnamon.
If you are comfortable with basic terminal commands then I would suggest you to try Manjaro Linux. You may read my review of Manjaro Linux 0.8.5 Xfce.

For sure, ubuntu 10.04 is my first love and the reason why i still using Linux until now, and as far as i know, this release is the best and the most stable system i have ever used. well, good bye Lucid Lynx. Thank you 🙂
Thank you. Ubuntu 10.04 will stay in my memories for ever. 🙂
It was the best Ubuntu before they put the horrible Unity desktop environment. Now I am a ronin (A samurai without desktop environment) who roams looking for desktops, and every environment I try it’s nothing like Gnome2.
Yes, Ubuntu 10.04 was the best Ubuntu. I would recommend Xfce now. 🙂
Same problem here………….”Nothing is Like Gnome2″.
But I think you may want to have a look and try MATE Desktop:

Install Guidelines after installing a Ubuntu version newer than 10.04 are here:

Also a project that promise the continuation of the look and feel of Ubuntu 10.04 is called Ubuntu MATE:
